“You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find what you need.”
~The Rolling Stones~
I’ve heard this quote so many times and yet I can’t get enough of it because it is so true. There are many times in life that we search for what we want and think what we need isn’t what we would want. And when we want something we have to have it right now, no later. But if we would take a step back and look at the big picture we would realize that sometimes what we need is more than what we could ever want, but we also have t be willing to wait for it.
“I would rather be able to appreciate things I can not have than to have things I am not able to appreciate.”
One of the worst feelings is realizing that you have taken something, or someone you had, for granted. Knowing you didn’t show them the love and appreciation that they deserved. So I say to you guys, realize that what you have and don’t let it go.
“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”
There are countless amounts of people who go out in the world searching for things that will make them happy. But stop searching, happiness is all around you. Recognize the happiness you can have when you appreciate the life you are given and with the people who love you.
“All of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination. What kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.”
“Being happy doesn’t meant that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.”
Don’t let something pass by just because it is not perfect. If you do you’ll never be happy with anything, for nothing is completely perfect.
“To appreciate the beauty of a snow flake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold.”
I took this on the night of out first hard snowfall this year. I was so amazed because these snowflakes were some of the biggest I’ve seen. Looking at this picture, I feel the quote matches it well, because it’s true. To truly see and appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, you’re going to have to stand out in the cold, and it’s the same with life. Sometimes to understand a person, you have to be in their position. It may not be a very good position, but the best way to understand something is to experience it yourself.
