When The Fire Comes

“Fireproof doesn’t mean the fire will never come. It means when the fire comes that you will be able to withstand it.”

No one every knows what is going to happen. If something good will come our way, or if something tragic will. What matters is what we do when it comes.

Hold On To The Memories

“Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”

~Kevin Arnold~

Some memories we wish we could run from, others we never want to forget, either way they are apart of us, they help make us who we are, who we’re going to be.

Never Forgotten

“You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived, You can close your eyes and pray the he’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him, or you can be full of the love you share. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what he’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

~ David Harkins~

Last summer our schools suffered a terrible loss. One of our fellow students had passed away. In remembrance of him at one of the first football games, his teammates brought out his jersey to the bench with them and the student section had tons of balloons that they released after the National Anthem in his memory. He may be gone but the impacts that he has made will last forever.

I know I posted a picture like this, but I was playing around with the different filters in my programs and I found this one. I thought it just turned out so cool and different. I love it so much and I just wanted to share it with you guys! Hope you like it 🙂

My Guardian Angel

My Guardian Angel

By: Connor Luna

I think back to the times

When I wished you weren’t there

How you picked on me everyday

And I thought you didn’t care

I used to wish you’d gone and left

And never would return

Through all the fighting and all the strife

I thought you would have learned

You annoyed me so easily

I thought, as the time had passed

You’d finally treat me equally

But I guess you didn’t see

How you make me so upset sometimes

Why wouldn’t you go AWAY?

I thought you hated me so much

That’s why you chose to stay

BUT now I see

That was a big mistake

To try to cast you aside

What kind of person

Receives a gift

And then passes it by?

Without you

Who would I be?

Some selfish little girl

Who hardened her heart

And hid it from the world

You showed me the Lord

And his love for me

You helped me open up.

Now I finally see

You are my guardian angel

The fighter of the evil

Defender in the darkness

Mender of the broken

You are my beloved

You shine more than a star

You’re more beautiful than a rose

And you’re far more, than you think you are

Our bond is everlasting

And you’ll forever have my love

You are my only sister

Who I am unworthy of.

I wrote this poem for my sister for her 18th birthday. I wanted to show her how much I love her and how she has affected my life so greatly. My sister is by far, the most beautiful, caring and wonderful person I have ever met. I have taken her for granted in the past, but not anymore. I’ve seen how wrong I was for doing that. I love her with all my heart and wouldn’t trade her for anything else in the world.
